Window Washing FAQs

Should I clean my window myself?

You can, but it is always best to have fully trained and insured professionals do any work for you where ladders are involved.

We recommend having your windows washed at least twice a year. Doing inside and outside window cleaning in the spring and outside window cleaning in the fall.

As well as leaving in natural light to both brighten your home and mood, a professional window cleaning will help preserve your glass. Over time, glass collects natural minerals which results in hard water stains and etching on your glass. Regular window washing will stop this.

No. House cleaning services are not trained or equipped to clean windows to the same level of expertise as trained window washing professionals.

No. Your estimate does not include removing chemical staining from hard water buildup, brick sealant, or any construction materials such as paint, plaster, or concrete that may be on windows, unless our estimate specifically states so. We are happy to provide an estimate for this service onsite.

A courtesy wipe of window sills is included in an inside and outside window cleaning service. If you require a deep cleaning of sills, this is an additional cost to be determined onsite. Cleaning of tracks and window frames are not included in your estimate but can be cleaned for an additional charge.

At Twice As Brite, we treat every home as if it is our own and take the time to leave every home shining bright. We remove our shoes at the door, use drop cloths underneath windows, and only use dawn soap on your windows. We are not a moving company and ask the area around windows to be relatively clear. But if we have to move anything, we take great care moving it and putting back.

Gutter Cleaning FAQs

How often should I have my gutters cleaned?

This depends on the number and types of trees you have around your home. If you have Maple Trees around your home we recommend twice a year, once in the spring when it sheds its ‘helicopters’ and again in the fall.

Homes with Pine Trees should have gutters cleaned at least twice a year. For other homes, a gutter cleaning once a year in the fall might suffice.

If you don’t clean your gutters they can become clogged which leads to overflowing. Which then enters your home through seepage into your basement. Too much seepage can cause extensive and expensive damage!

We do not recommend anyone who is not trained in ladder safety to clean their gutters. Leave that to the fully trained and insured professionals.

Typically we do not need someone at home to clean your gutters. We can send before and after pictures upon request.

We clean all gutters by hand and flush downspouts with water to make sure they are working correctly. If the downspouts need to be taken apart to remove a blockage this would be an additional cost.

Power Washing FAQs

What is Power Washing?

Power washing (also known as pressure washing) uses high-pressure water spray to clean surfaces. Power washing can be used to clean wooden decks, concrete drives & gangways, front steps & paver patios, and more. We even offer a complete house wash service!

An annual washing of your house is enough to keep it shining bright.

Not with our trained professionals here at Twice As Brite. Our team will determine the exact amount of pressure to be used before beginning any job to verify the correct pressure to be used.

In the hands of untrained users, pressure washing can cause damage to surfaces. This is why you need to contact professionals to power wash your home.
